The mayor of the state capital Wiesbaden inaugurated a Rainbow Roundabout before Gay Pride. After a rainbow-coloured zebra crossing caused controversy last year and was damaged by unknown persons, there was no vandalism with permanent damage at the Roundabout. The feedback from the public and the LGBT+ community was overwhelmingly positive.
The Rainbow Roundabout is located in direct proximity to important venues of the Wiesbaden LGBT+ community, where parties and gatherings take place. The Christopher Street Day demonstration march also ended here, with over 6,000 participants making their way to the open-air festival via the Rainbow Roundabout.
