The Viennese Anti-Discrimination Unit for LGBTIQ Affairs collaborated with the department for education and youth perfectly in ensuring a process of founding and creating Austria’s first queer youth centre. After having a conference, an online-symposium and doing a study the City of Vienna invited for a call of best concepts, which was won by “Q:WIR”. The City of Vienna finances the project and helps in various ways, as to find a location or to give knowledge. A location was found, the rooms renovated and adapted, furniture chosen by the juveniles themselves and Vienna is proud to have the first queer youth centre in Austria.
