Since 2021, the Equality Mission of the City of Bordeaux has been coordinating Pride Month from 17 May to 30 June, with a €15,000 call for projects. Launched each year on IDAHOT Day, 17 May, this event offers a diverse and varied programme to promote the rights of LGBTQI people over more than a month.
This year, more than 4,000 participants attended the forty or so events scheduled (conferences, shows, workshops, exhibitions, concerts, etc.) in different parts of the city.
On 17 May, the official ceremony at the City Hall brought together some forty LGBTQI+ partners and structures from the area. It was an opportunity to present the RCN’s 2024 exhibition ‘Elders and Pioneers’. For the first time, the LGBTQI flag was installed above the entrance to the City Hall, to increase its visibility.
