Heidelberg’s second Pride March took place on June 15, 2024 with over 3,000 visitors. Launched in 2023 by the Queerfeminist Collective Heidelberg as a rather spontaneous initiative of young queer people, the Pride March was a complete success in both 2023 and 2024 bringing many people together to take to the streets for queer rights. The city of Heidelberg supported the project this year with €5,000 in start-up funding and is looking forward to next year. The suc-cess of the Pride March Heidelberg is a sign that Pride Marches are also growing, successful and popular in smaller cities and that it is worthwhile for municipalities to support queer projects.
