Barcelona has a protocol for tackling situations of LGBTIphobia, which responds to Law 11/2014 and other laws in defence of the rights of LGBTI people and to the Municipal Plan for Sexual and Gender Diversity 2016-2020 (still in force).
The aim is to establish a circuit for a joint approach to addressing any situations of discrimination and/or breaches of rights due to sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression identified in the city of Barcelona, among the various services and organisations involved, based on joint interventions between the Office for Non-Discrimination (OND), the Barcelona LGTBI Centre, the Barcelona Social Emergency and Urgent Care Centre (CUESB) and the Observatory against Homophobia (OCH) and provides for the incorporation of other relevant organisations.
