An event called ‘LGBT+ Friendly Copenhagen’ was held at Copenhagen City Hall during pride-week and saw a large turnout. The event was organized by the City’s Gender Equality Unit, inviting partners, organizations, and Copenhageners to participate. The City Hall was decorated for the occasion with posters, post-its and round tables that encouraged debate and dialogue. The Lord Mayor welcomed everyone and was followed by the serving of the famous City Hall pancakes. Participants worked in groups to strengthen the City’s efforts to support diversity and inclusion within five selected areas: child, youth, and family life; health, care, and special support; attachment to the job market; structural racism, sexism, and hate crimes; and public spaces and cultural life. The workshop group discussions and the submitted proposals will form the basis for further work in the LGBT+ area.
