The City of Copenhagen’s LGBTI+ policy (2019-2023) consisted of 54 initiatives across all of the administrations. A final evaluation was conducted by the Gender Equality Unit based on input from the LGBT+ civil society organizations involved in drafting the policy. The assessment is that the policy has strengthened the City’s collective LGBT+ efforts and has had a positive impact on the well-being and inclusion of LGBT+ residents. The policy enhanced the collaboration between the City and LGBT+ civil society organizations, which have provided valuable knowledge and insights. The policy has created a solid foundation for the future work in the field and identified three areas of attention: Well-being among LGBT+ residents (social, psychological and health-related), strengthening the knowledge base among municipal employees, and more inclusive facilities in the cultural and leisure sector.
