Active Bystander training: in Ghent more than 4000 people were trained as Active Bystanders. Active Bystander Training aims to activate bystanders when confronted with inappropriate behavior, or discrimination. People can intervene using one out of four strategies offered and practiced in the training. The City of Ghent initiates Active bystander training for civilians, organizations and civil servants. Special training courses were provided for nightlife staff.
Our impact assessment shows significant positive attitude and behaviour changes, participants feel empowered to react actively.
