an enormous step forward for the Region’s equal opportunities policy. The equality impact assessment is an instrument that is used to screen all new legislation and regulations, public procurement, grants, management contracts and strategic planning tools for their impact on at least 5 criteria: – Gender – Disability – Ethno-cultural background – Sexual orientation, gender identity / expression and sex characteristics – Origin and social situation This test guides users step by step through simple questions in order to assess the impact of policies on various disadvantaged groups.
