In 2023, workshops on diversity of gender and sexual orientation were organized in all schools of Helsinki in grades 6-9. The goal of the workshops was to enable a better understanding of LGBTIQ issues and increase respect for diversity as a step towards a safer school for everyone. As a continuation of this work, a pack of educational materials based on the workshops was compiled in 2024 to aid teachers in bringing up LGBTIQ topics in classrooms. The resource pack includes visual presentation materials used in the workshops as well as a script to follow. The materials are available in Finnish, Swedish and English to all employees of the Education Division.
