The City of Helsinki renewed its commitment as a main partner of Helsinki Pride for the years 2024-2026. The City has been a main partner since 2000. This year, the Mayor and Deputy Mayors of Helsinki jointly served as patrons of Helsinki Pride. For the first time, the Mayor of Helsinki declared Pride Peace together with the Chair of the Helsinki Pride Community, underscoring the fact that Helsinki belongs to everyone. As in previous years, the City once again organised a wide variety of activities in e.g. libraries, cultural centres and youth services (Youth Pride Week), and had a visible presence in the Pride parade and park festivities. This year, the participants of the park festivities were also invited to fill in a short survey on how to improve the city services for LGBTIQ people. One of the most visible actions to city residents, implemented in cooperation with Metropolitan Area Transport Ltd and the Helsinki Pride Community, was a tram covered with rainbow decals, which operated in the streets of Helsinki through the summer.
